The Safest Way To Bypass LinkedIn Connection Limits in 2025

If you’ve received the “you’ve reached the weekly invitation limit” message when sending a connection request on LinkedIn, you’re probably wondering how you can get past it. In this article, we’ll cover how you can safely bypass LinkedIn limits without getting your account banned.

LInkedIn Daily Invitation Limit

What is the LinkedIn Connection Limit?

LinkedIn has implemented a weekly invitation limit of 100 outgoing invites per week, a significant reduction from the glory days of 700 invites per week (100 per day) in 2019. This change has greatly impacted prospecting methods – especially for salespeople and recruiters. We’ve charted all of LinkedIn’s limits in this article.

However, there are still plenty of ways to work around this limitation (which we cover below). By using certain techniques, you can still contact up to 200 people on LinkedIn. You may even be able to do more; however, we can’t promise your account’s security.

When Does the LinkedIn Connection Limit Restart?

The LinkedIn connection limit resets every seven days from the date when you sent your first invitation. For example, if you sent your first invitation on a Wednesday at 2 PM, your limit will reset the following Wednesday at 2 PM.

It’s important to keep track of this reset date to avoid exceeding the weekly limit and potentially getting penalized by LinkedIn (although you’ll most likely just see the message above). By staying within the connection limit, you can continue to build your network with outreach campaigns.

2 Solutions to Bypass the LinkedIn Connection Limit:

Here are two different ways to bypass the LinkedIn connection limits:

1. Connect With Users Through InMails

Connecting with open profiles on LinkedIn through InMail is a great way to reach out to potential connections who may not have their profile set to accept connection requests. If you are on a free plan, you’ll only be able to send InMails to people with ‘Open Profiles.’ If you’re on a Sales Navigator, LinkedIn Recruiter, or LinkedIn Premium plan, you can send InMails to a wider group of contacts.

To send an InMail to an Open Profile user, first, navigate to the profile of the person you want to connect with and click the “More” button below their name.

  1. Select “Message” and then choose “InMail” from the dropdown menu.

  2. Write a personalized message to the person, explaining why you want to connect with them and how you could potentially help each other.

  3. Send the InMail and wait for a response.

When crafting your InMail message, it’s important to be professional, courteous, and specific. Avoid using generic messages or templates, as they can come across as ingenuine and decrease the likelihood of getting a response. Instead, take the time to research the person and their 14-day and tailor your message accordingly. Here are a few of our own tips to increase your success rate when sending LinkedIn InMail messages.

By using InMail to connect with open profiles on LinkedIn, you can expand your network and improve your LinkedIn social selling index. Just remember to always follow LinkedIn’s policies and guidelines for InMail usage to avoid any penalties or negative impacts on your account.

2. Use an Automation Tool

Using an automation tool can help you bypass the LinkedIn connection limits. At We-Connect, the safest and most advanced tool for LinkedIn automation and prospecting, we can boost your action limit to 700 per week. We count an “action” as any task that is automated, such as sending a connection request, withdrawing invites, endorsing a contact, or viewing a profile (yes, we help you automate all these things & more).

Our solution works with the basic (free) LinkedIn account, LinkedIn Premium, Sales Navigator, and Recruiter, meaning you can increase limits across any plan.

In our free 14-day plan, you could automate 300 new connections, here’s how:

  1. Sign up for We-Connect’s 14-day free trial.

  2. Log in to your LinkedIn profile.

  3. Build your first campaign, selecting from 14+ LinkedIn actions and targeting contacts from a LinkedIn search URL.

What Doesn’t Work:

The “invite by email” feature was a great hack, but In August 2022, LinkedIn removed the following two essential features:

  1. Sending invitations via email

  2. Uploading CSV files to send invitations.

As a result, the “Invite by email” feature no longer works. However, if you’re looking to target contacts from a CSV, this is a reminder that We-Connect can do that (as well as sync with your CRM).

Alternatives like sending LinkedIn connection requests to group members and InMails to Open profile members are outstanding ways to supplement your LinkedIn outreach. Still, they do not compensate for the number of leads lost due to LinkedIn connection limits. For that reason, our top choice is to use an automation tool like We-Connect.
